A distancia ao chan é a distancia desde o punto máis baixo no centro da carrocería do coche ata o chan. Non obstante, o fabricante da G-Series 6×4 mide a distancia ao chan segundo lle conveña. Isto significa que a distancia desde os amortecedores, a cárter de aceite do motor ou o silenciador ata o asfalto pode ser menor que a distancia ao chan indicada.
